The Old Record Club is two hours of carefully chosen music from the 50s to the 80s.
Steve Bishop is a radio presenter and self-confessed music obsessive, best known as the host of The Old Record Club — a syndicated show broadcast across a growing number of community and independent radio stations across the UK, including Wey Valley Radio.
Having made a nuisance of himself at several commercial and BBC local radio stations over the years, Steve found himself on air presenting a Sunday morning show on Radio Caroline at the turn of the millennium. That experience cemented his love of broadcasting and pointed him firmly in the direction of the music that matters most to him.
Steve has roots in commercial radio, BBC local radio, community stations, and even Radio Caroline. His style is old school – he still prefers CD players, vinyl decks, and tape machines rather than modern digital systems. His influences include artists like Electric Light Orchestra, David Bowie and Queen.
Away from the microphone, Steve is a QPR supporter, a devoted tea drinker — ideally accompanied by a packet of bourbon biscuits — and enjoys hill walking in Norfolk.
