Wey Valley Radio is run entirely by local volunteers — and we’re always happy to welcome new ones. Whether you fancy being on air or helping out behind the scenes, there’s a place for you.
You don’t need any experience. You just need a bit of enthusiasm and some time to give — we’ll show you the rest.
There’s far more to a radio station than the voices on air…
Host your own show — music, chat, specialist programmes. Full training and studio support given.
Gather and read local news bulletins, or keep listeners up to date on travel and weather.
Help keep us on air — studio kit, the stream, recording and editing. Great for the technically minded.
Come out and about with us at fêtes, markets and community events across Alton.
Help tell our story online — posts, photos, and keeping the website fresh.
Behind-the-scenes support that keeps a not-for-profit station running. Every hand helps.
Pick up real, hands-on skills in the media industry — on air or off.
Do something you love with a friendly, welcoming bunch of people.
Be part of something that genuinely matters to your local community.
We'll get back to you for a friendly chat about what you'd like to do, and usually invite you in to see the studio and meet a few of the team. No commitment, no experience needed — just come and have a look.
