Phil Dobbie

Whether you’ve just started work, back from the school run, or taking it easy, Phil Dobbie will play the best music through your morning, including two short songs at 10:30, Rewind to the 2000s at 11:00, and the long song at 11:30. Phil has been on the radio since he was 16 years old, starting on hospital radio in his teens, then joining Radio Tees, a commercial station in the northeast.

He’s presented shows on TalkRADIO, Lovesport, Radio Solent, Sydney’s 2UE and 2NSB, as well as, of course, our very own Wey Valley Radio.

He presents The Morning Call, a daily finance podcast for the National Australia Bank, sometimes from here and sometimes over there. It’s been going for ten years and he hopes to keep at it along with his other podcasts: The Why Curve, with BBC veteran Roger Hearing, and Debunking Economics, with contrarian economist Steve Keen.

Phil spends his time between here and Sydney these days, and can be heard filling-in from time to time.

He loves getting out on his bike and says, when he’s away, he misses cycling through those Hampshire country lanes. He says he’ll be back for good when England wins the World Cup.
