Paul Smy has been with Wey Valley since its reincarnation starting out Monday evening 6-8 and Saturday 10-12.
With no background in radio or production he decided that he just wanted to be a link between the residents and the wider local community with programmes that concentrated on sharing not just the music but what was available to enjoy locally and hopefully that was achieved and continues to this day.
He was in a band called Parody, formed for one performance at The Boileroom Guildford about 6 years ago. They were a group of frustrated rock musicians who had so much talent, and it allowed the young (well let’s be honest even at the timehe was a pensioner) to, well, live the dream for one night only!
He’s also been an extra in a few films (3rd Knight from the left….) and tv soaps. His starring role was as a Dad in a Fosters Lager ad…. which gave him about 5 minutes of street cred with his kids!
Now he’s essentially rent a mouth still on Saturday morning 10am-12 and Monday 4-6pm.
