Stafford’s World brings you a unique mix of the best music from the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.
Mark Stafford has an unmatched wealth of musical knowledge on the period and the show is backed by a superb music library. On top of that, Mark’s radio background includes over 25 years working for the legendary Radio Caroline and many years working for other quality broadcasters.
Mark started his radio career in the late 1970’s. Throughout the 1980’s he was Station Manager of the RBL International Service broadcasting legally on FM from Bolougne on the French Coast to the South Coast of England. The 1990’s saw him working on Invicta Supergold and Invicta FM, at a time when Invicta FM was one of the Top 5 Local Independent Radio Stations in the U.K.
After working for other UK FM stations he moved on to being co-founder of Europe’s first Satellite Rock Radio station, European Klassik Rock (EKR). Broadcasting from the prestigious Maidstone Studios complex in Kent, EKR boasted a very high quality on-air line-up. And, Mark presented programmes alongside radio legends such as Dave Cash and Emperor Rosko. Mark was Head Of Music for EKR and was also in charge of creating the station image and the whole of the music output.
After the closure of EKR, Mark was invited to join the legendary Radio Caroline as Head Of Music and the man in charge of the music output and music programming as Radio Caroline launched it’s own satellite delivered radio service via the Astra Satelite. Over 25 years later, Mark’s weekly radio shows still continue be broadcast by Radio Caroline.
Along the way, his shows morphed into the syndicated radio show “Stafford’s World”. This is now one of the Top 5 syndicated music shows in the UK. Stafford’s World is currently broadcast on over 180 different radio stations all over the world. You can hear Stafford’s World on FM, DAB, AM, Short Wave & Internet Radio from stations all over the world from Australia to Spain and from The U.S.A. to The Netherlands.
At the end of 2024, Stafford’s World reached a new listening peak, when over 220 different radio stations all over the world took the “Rock & Roll Heaven 2024” Year End Special show on Stafford’s World.
