Lili and Tom from Woodfest – on The Playlist 20 July 2026 Julie Cottrell
Festival season is well underway, and while you may have heard of bigger festivals near us like Guilfest, Boomtown and Victorious – there’s a smaller festival right on our doorstep that is getting rave reviews.
Wood-Fest is held in beautiful surroundings in Upper Wield, and has been going since 2021.
It’s grown from a birthday party in a field to a full on family friendly festival in 2026 with more than forty acts over three stages – including one run by Alton College students. This year there were also specially created beers from Alton’s Ten Tun Brew House.
Julie Cottrell and Stewart Ireland from The Playlist on Monday nights went along at the beginning of July to experience what the festival had to offer – and spoke to festival organisers Lili Hodge and Tom Paynter.
